MANUAL LYMPH DRAINAGE
mld

A gentle yet extremely powerful modality. Dr Vodder’s Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is an advanced therapy in which the practitioner uses a range of specialised and gentle rhythmic pumping techniques to move the skin in the direction of lymph flow, stimulating the lymphatic vessels which carry substances vital to the defence of the body, removing waste products, reducing swelling and boosting the metabolism and immune system.

Lymphatic Drainage massage has been shown to assist in preparing the body for surgery, removing extra-cellular waste, increasing the production of white blood cells and decreasing the risk of infection, all of which can lead to improved outcomes for your surgery.

Post-operatively it can significantly reduce edema, bruising, pain and scarring, and due to it’s gentle pressure, treatment can be started soon after your surgery.  For the best results and to reduce downtime required for your recovery, treatment is best commenced within the first 5 days post surgery, with your surgeon's approval.
